Application of Dust Sensors in Vehicle Air Purification Systems

Nowadays, more and more people own private cars, and people are starting to worry about air quality issues inside vehicles. Since the release of China's first in-vehicle air quality standard—"Guideline for Air Quality Assessment in Passenger Cars"—in 2012, public attention to this issue has grown. Data shows that staying in a polluted car for a long time can lead to unconscious poisoning, gradually causing symptoms like headaches and fatigue. In severe cases, it can lead to dermatitis, asthma, weakened immunity, and even a decrease in white blood cells.

There are several main sources of air pollution inside vehicles. Source 1: smoke, dust, and suspended matter from toys or cushions caused by poor air circulation. Source 2: toxic gases from vehicle interior materials, mainly including benzene, formaldehyde, acetone, and xylene.

In addition to regular cleaning and opening windows, many new cars are now equipped with intelligent air purification systems. These systems consist of an air purifier, dust sensors, other gas detection sensors, and a control system. The air purifier can adsorb, decompose, or convert various pollutants (dust, smoke, formaldehyde, etc.) to improve air quality. Dust sensors are used in these systems to detect dust concentrations, allowing the control system to intelligently adjust the purifier to filter dust and keep the air fresh.
