A fresh air system is a system that achieves indoor air circulation and renewal by introducing outdoor air into the room and exhausting indoor air out. The fresh air system can effectively improve indoor air quality by removing harmful substances such as PM2.5, formaldehyde, and bacteria, while also regulating indoor humidity.
There are two main ways for a fresh air system to regulate indoor humidity:
● Via Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV): The ERV is the core component of the fresh air system, which can perform heat and humidity exchange between the exhausted indoor air and the incoming outdoor air. When indoor humidity is high, the ERV transfers water vapor from the humid indoor air to the dry outdoor air being brought in, thereby reducing indoor humidity.
● Via Humidifiers or Dehumidifiers: Some fresh air systems are also equipped with humidifiers or dehumidifiers, which can adjust based on real-time indoor humidity levels. When indoor humidity is low, the humidifier supplies water vapor to the room; when indoor humidity is high, the dehumidifier absorbs moisture from the room.
The fresh air system generally relies on sensors to regulate indoor humidity. Sensors monitor indoor humidity in real-time and transmit the data to the fresh air system controller. The controller determines whether it is necessary to regulate indoor humidity and issues corresponding commands to the system.

Fresh air systems have the following advantages in regulating indoor humidity:
● It maintains indoor humidity within a comfortable range, reducing health risks associated with dry air.
● It prevents indoor air from becoming too dry, which helps reduce the growth of bacteria.
● It prevents excessive indoor humidity that can cause problems like mildew and mold.
When regulating indoor humidity, the following points should be noted for fresh air systems:
● A fresh air system should be chosen based on local climatic conditions.
● The fresh air system should be cleaned and maintained regularly to ensure normal operation.
● Users should choose the appropriate adjustment method based on their own needs.
Through the above introduction, we can understand that fresh air systems can regulate indoor humidity through ERVs, humidifiers, or dehumidifiers. This helps keep indoor humidity in a comfortable range and reduces health hazards.
