Air Purifiers Equipped with Laser Dust PM2.5 Sensors: Energy-Efficient and Environmentally Friendly

Air purifier equipped with laser dust PM2.5 sensor: energy-saving, efficient, and more environmentally friendly

The principle of air purification can be simply divided into three steps: detection, purification, and release. The air purifier detects indoor pollutants, filters them, and then discharges clean air. Only when these three steps work well together can the air purifier exert greater efficacy.

How the air purifier achieves rapid perception of changes in indoor air quality, provides feedback to our users, and changes corresponding gears accordingly, will undoubtedly clean the air more effectively, thereby achieving energy saving and life extension. The detection of pollutants in an air purifier is realized through a laser PM2.5 dust sensor installed inside the product. LUFMES focuses on the technical research, production, and sales of optical particulate matter sensors. It has developed the LD16, a minimal PM2.5 sensor module, and other laser dust PM2.5 sensors for devices such as air purifiers.

Laser PM2.5 sensors utilize the principle of laser Mie scattering. A photoelectric detector receives the scattered light and converts it into an electrical signal, which is then processed by precision filtering and amplification circuits and converted by CPU algorithms to output analog and digital signals.

The LUFMES LD16 laser dust sensor is a versatile, miniaturized module. Using the principle of laser Mie scattering to detect dust particles present in the air, it has good consistency and stability. It features serial port output and PWM output for easy use. Its small size and ease of integration make it a more popular PM2.5 sensor for air purifier products.

In addition, although infrared PM2.5 sensors are not as good as laser dust PM2.5 sensors in terms of measurement accuracy and other performances, they are still relatively cheap in price. Based on this, LUFMES has also developed and produced infrared PM2.5 sensor modules such as the GDS06.
