Air pollution can damage the human respiratory tract and affect physical health. Especially in cities that frequently experience air quality issues, people often keep an air purifier at home. The sensor within an air purifier is an indispensable and important accessory. What is the use of the sensor in an air purifier?

Through the different colors displayed by the air purifier LED indicator or the numerical values shown on the purifier's LCD screen, we can easily grasp the air quality of our space in real-time. It is very convenient and quite amazing. While the air purifier purifies the air, it can also display the air quality in real-time through values or colors. This is primarily achieved by a component called a sensor.
Inside the sensor, there is a device called a constant light source. When air passes through the light it emits, particulate matter in the air scatters the light, causing an attenuation of light intensity. The relative attenuation rate is proportional to the concentration of particulate matter. At this point, another device comes into play——the light detector. It can detect the light reflected by the particles and output a signal based on the reflected light intensity, thereby determining the concentration of particulate matter. Finally, the air quality is displayed via lights or numerical values.

There are many types of sensors configured for air purifiers. The GDS06 infrared sensor recommended by Luftmy adopts patented data acquisition technology to output sensing data with high precision in real-time. The GDS06 infrared PM2.5 dust sensor comes with a built-in anti-dust accumulation function, which automatically identifies dust and other foreign objects and automatically attenuates the sensor concentration. When the sensor triggers the dust self-reduction concentration, as this action is auxiliary, it prevents deviations in concentration data. This self-reduction effectively reduces errors caused by external environmental interference. In addition to air purifiers, the GDS06 infrared sensor can also be applied to air conditioners, fresh air systems, smart detectors, and other equipment.
