There are two main types of formaldehyde sensors in air purifiers: electrochemical sensors and optical sensors.
Electrochemical sensors are currently the most widely used type of formaldehyde sensor. The working principle of this sensor is to detect formaldehyde concentration using electrical signals generated by the reaction between formaldehyde and electrochemistry. The advantages of electrochemical sensors are high sensitivity, fast response speed, and relatively low price. The disadvantage is that they are easily affected by environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and light.
Optical sensors are a type of formaldehyde sensor developed in recent years. The advantages of optical sensors are strong anti-interference ability and good stability. The disadvantages are relatively lower sensitivity, slower response speed, and higher price.
From the perspective of accuracy, electrochemical sensors and optical sensors each have their own pros and cons. Electrochemical sensors have high sensitivity and can detect low concentrations of formaldehyde, but they are easily affected by environmental factors, and their accuracy is not as good as optical sensors. Optical sensors have strong anti-interference ability and higher accuracy, but their sensitivity is relatively lower and they cannot detect very low concentrations of formaldehyde.

In addition, the accuracy of formaldehyde sensors in air purifiers is also affected by the following factors:
