In the PM2.5 sensor industry, infrared dust sensors have been maturely applied for many years. The market price of the products has dropped from 35-50 yuan a few years ago to more than 20 yuan now, becoming a standard configuration in air purification and air detection products.
The structure and circuit of the infrared dust sensor are relatively simple. The light source is an infrared LED light source. The airflow inlet and outlet for detecting particulate matter concentration mainly rely on resistance heating to obtain thermal airflow. When particles pass through the inlet and outlet, the infrared LED light emitted by the infrared light-emitting diode is directed toward the incoming airflow, scattered, and then enters the phototransistor that receives the light signal to determine the concentration of particulate matter in the air. Compared with the infrared dust sensors manufactured by Shinyei, the output signal of the Luftmy HPD05 infrared PM2.5 dust sensor features both IIC digital interface output in addition to PWM pulse output.
Luftmy's infrared dust sensors have the advantages of high precision, high sensitivity, and good consistency, and can detect minimum particles with a diameter of about 0.5μm. Infrared dust sensors are widely used and can be embedded in products such as household (vehicle-mounted, handheld) air detectors and air purifiers.
Application areas of infrared PM2.5 dust sensors: air conditioners with purification functions, air purifiers, vehicle purification equipment, portable detectors, fresh air systems, smart detectors, etc.
