The application of dust sensors is very broad. In addition to applications in air purification products and air particle concentration detection instruments, they are also highly useful in safety equipment, such as smoke alarms. A smoke alarm, also known as a fire alarm, is a device used for fire early warning, typically applied in homes, offices, public entertainment venues, warehouses, and other environments.
If a fire occurs, it usually spreads very fiercely, leaving a very short and difficult window for firefighting. If not addressed in time, it can easily lead to serious casualties and economic losses. If the source of the fire can be discovered early, the effectiveness of firefighting can be greatly improved and fire losses minimized. A smoke alarm equipped with a sensor can issue an alarm signal at the earliest possible moment, allowing the fire to be extinguished before it poses a threat. To this end, Luftmy has developed and produced laser dust sensors suitable for smoke alarms.
The working principle of a smoke alarm is to detect the smoke concentration in the air via a dust sensor. Generally, when a fire occurs, it is accompanied by large amounts of thick smoke in addition to flames, and the dust sensor can detect this smoke immediately. This smoke consists of tiny solid particles floating in the air; the dust sensor uses the principle of light reflection by particles, judging the dust concentration by detecting infrared light reflected from an infrared LED by the airflow containing dust particles through an internal image sensor. The higher the concentration, the stronger the reflected light. When the dust sensor in the smoke alarm detects a concentration exceeding the set value, the circuit generates an alarm signal to activate on-site alarm equipment. For networked devices, a wireless communication module can be used to send a remote fire distress signal and relevant location information to an alarm platform for timely rescue.
Luftmy's dust sensors include both infrared and laser types. The main infrared dust sensors are HPD05 and GDS06, both of which are high-sensitivity sensors with high cost-performance. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
